Description

Park Tool's CSH-1 Spoke Clamping Pliers are the ultimate solution to prevent bladed/aero spokes from twisting and turning while you're tensioning and truing wheels!

The core difference between the CSH-2 and Unior's Spoke Holding Pliers is the design of the jaws. Park Tool have opted to use parallel jaws which are driven by a cam mechanism. This provides 4 main benefits:

  1. It reduces the risk of marring the surface of your spokes
  2. It is compatible with both round and bladed spokes
  3. There is more surface area in contact with your spoke (20 mm)
  4. All edges are rounded so there is less of a risk of scratching other spokes

The jaws also offer a second clamping position which excels with high spoke count wheels such as 36-spoke BMX wheels.

The final benefit of the CSH-1 are ergonomics. Anyone's who's used Roval's now-discontinued spoke pliers knows how awful they are on your hands, especially when doing multiple wheels back to back. Park Tool have kept the weight down to a relatively light 210 grams and the soft dual-compound handles mean you can use them all day with ease.
