Unior is one of the most underrated bicycle tool brands. They are one of the oldest tools brands producing bicycle specific products, and are one of the few that produce 100% of their products in-house in Europe. Their wealth of experience manufacturing tools for other industries means their tools are very high quality, and often solve unique problems traditional cycling brands overlook.
Their first metal forge was opened in 1919 in the Pohorje area of North-East Slovenia by engineers Mirko Bremec and Walter Mach, producing agricultural and carpentry tools. Following WW2, their facility was renovated with a focus on producing hand tools. Sometime around 1974 the name Unior was introduced and they began expanding from a small Slovenian domestic manufacturer to a global brand. 105 years later, they still operate out of the original site in Zreče, Slovenia.
